Since its announcement in April. The reboot of Thief by Eidos Montreal and Square Enix, could be in jeopardy due to multiple set backs that have caused high-level departures have been reported.
One of those departures includes lead game designer Dominic Fluery. Each new lead designer, apparently, has brought a new idea of what Thief should be, causing more and more setbacks. Stages and mechanics scraped, or changed significantly.
And because of these delays, it has caused a significant raise in production costs forcing Eidos Montreal to seek out a German investment firm to supplement their funding.
Eidos Montreal and Square Enix still have some faith in Thief and is expected to be at E3 this year.
We will know more details as it unfolds.
