Uncovering the latest PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at E3 Expo in Los Angeles, US last week impacted gamers all over the world with either doubts or further confirmation of which console to own.
For one product to be crowned best, it must have some sort of competition. Now that both consoles have been revealed, people are putting their preferences up for battle. So why all the controversy, memes and comments about this issue?
Point A to B, Console to Console and Verdict
It’s all about the money
It is announced by the proud owners of the two consoles that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One that this two Great consoles are expected to release later this year.
The PlayStation 4 will cost $399 and the Xbox One will cost $499 in US dollars. The major $100 difference is definitely a prerogative for PlayStation fans and a downfall for the Xbox One. In addition, It is however not free to play online for both of the console gamers since it is free to sign up for Xbox Live Silver and PlayStation Network but since PlayStation announced that Online Multiplayer will be exclusively for PSN Members.
If I’d been thinking of buying one of the consoles with a neutral state of mind, why would I buy the one that costs a $100 more?
But money doesn’t always mean happiness…
Ever wanted to have a single machine that you can play games on, video call, talk to, and watch movies and live TV instantaneously? If so then Xbox One is your sanctuary.
Microsoft have revealed that the Xbox One will not only support voice control like the Xbox 360, but also activate on voice commands, and incorporate voice-to-text features. Saying commands like Xbox On, Xbox Go Home, and Xbox Watch TV, your console will now act as your new mini robot friend.
Gamers will also be able to video call their friends with the new Skype feature.
The video call will even stay active on your screen while you’re playing a game, watching a movie, or live TV.
The new Kinect 2.0 gives you the capability to switch between menu’s, exit a movie, or even switch between applications. All that requires just a few hands gestures.
Don’t like moving a lot? This is one box that will offer you everything, at the same time.
What if i don’t have an internet connection ?
This was probably the most talked about issue. Microsoft had announced that the Xbox One will Requires’s a constant internet connection in order to game. This restriction has somewhat caused an uproar among the Xbox fans and made them seem uncertain about their decision.
“This week however, Microsoft shocked gamers all over the world by removing their DRM policy therefore no longer requiring a 24 hour internet connection to play.”
Prior to this sudden announcement however, when asked about the previous DRM policy in an interview with Geoff Keighley at E3, Don Mattrick, Microsoft’s president of interactive entertainment, answered with a pretty conceited remark. He said that ” Fortunately we have a product for people who aren’t able to get some form of connectivity, it’s called Xbox 360.”
Later at E3 at the PS4 reveal event, President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment of America Jack Tretton stated that PlayStation 4 will not require an internet connection, which judging from the crowd, was ecstatically foreseen.
But then again, the perfect gaming experience is what’s important.
Just shot a no scope 360 montage and want to show it off? The PlayStation 4 has a new “Share” button in which players will be able to upload screenshots and game-play videos instantaneously to any social network.
“Also, the PlayStation 4 like the Xbox One can run multiple applications such as playing a game, browsing the web, chatting, or listening to music all at once.”
Gaming experience is pretty important, the PlayStation 4’s CU is 50% more powerful than that of the Xbox One according to Eurogamer. In addition, the PlayStation 4 has a faster RAM and will be able to run games on full HD (1080 p). Focusing mainly on the gamers experience, Sony is surely to show every freckle on a characters face.
Each console comes with its positives and negatives. Whether it’s a box all about entertainment you want or a box focused on gaming experience, the ongoing battle between the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will keep on going, and I don’t think its going to end anytime soon.
"In addition, It is completely free to sign up for PlayStation Network, while Xbox Live costs money."… No. How much research did you actually do? Live Silver is free. PSN is free. Live Gold is roughly $5/month and required to play online. PS+ will be roughly $5/mo and will be required to play online with the PS4.
