A cool new feature added to Battlefield 4 compared to previous games in the series is the ability to set enemies on fire. According to gameplay video and commentary from the Battlefield 4 showcase at E3, where 64 players are playing the game, enemies can be set on fire with the new incendiary grenades.
The new incendiary grenades that are available in Battlefield 4 will set fire to a small area, lighting it up with an intense heat. Any enemies in the proximity to the flames will be set on fire, and will cause damage over time, eventually either dying out, or killing the enemy. It’s uncertain how much damage the grenades can deal, and whether players will take damage until dying.
The GIF animation above showcases the grenade in use. It’s unknown whether it’s only the grenade that can set enemies on fire, or whether regular fire on the map can do it as well. In BF3, players were not set on fire when walking through flames, but they did take damage.
