The biggest live video game concert in the world is coming to Dubai this December! How fantastic can this be.
All gamers, casual and hardcore alike, should be extremely excited about this event.
Video Games Live is the biggest, and possibly the only, live concert in which the amazing music of games is played live on stage by an orchestra. The show includes beautifully played music, lights, projections and a whole act to making the experience even better!
The music played comes from a huge variety of games, from the newest titles like Diablo 3, Metal Gear Solid and all the way to the classics like the Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros. and Pong. Yes, you read that right, Pong.
This is the first time since it’s début in 2005 that Video Games Live comes to the Middle East, and luckily for us, their first show in the middle east will be held here in Dubai!
Not only will we get to witness a spectacular concert featuring our favorite gaming music. but we will also have the chance to attend the pre-show event which will include gaming previews, cosplay competitions, gaming competitions and a lot more.
There will also be a Guitar Hero competition, the winner of this competition will have the chance to play Guitar Hero live on stage with the famous Tommy Tallarico the creator of Video Games Live !
After the concert, everyone will be able to attend the Meet’n’Greet session in which you’ll be able to meet all the star guests, including game composers and developers, and get their autograph if you want.
Dubai Show info
The event will be held in Dubai World Trade Centre. It is a very easily accessible venue as a Metro Station is right next to it. (conveniently enough, it’s the Dubai World Trade Centre Station).
Doors open at 1:00 pm, at which time the pre-show event will start. The concert itself will begin at 6:30 pm and will last around 2 to 3 hours.
The concert will be performed by the UAE National Symphony Orchestra.
The ticket prices are:
• Normal : 185 AED
• Premium : 345 AED
• VIP : 595 AED
*** The VIP ticket will grant the holder access to the VIP lounge that would be used before the show, during the show when there is a short intermission time. The VIP ticket holder will also receive a Goody Bag (it’s content has not been revealed yet). And the holder of a VIP ticket will get priority at the Meet’n‘Greet at the end of the event. And of course, get the best seats possible for the show.

P.S. It has been exclusively revealed during an interview with Dubai Anime Club by Tommy Tallarico that one of the games that music will be played from at the event is Metal Gear Solid. That is only one of the many other amazing games that music would be played from on that day.
P.P.S. Another exclusive announcement by the VGL team (this one made during the anime convention “Animayhem” on the 29th of September) is that Gerard Marino, the composer of the music of God of War will be attending VGL in Dubai and conducting the orchestra himself!
